The Quebec Aquatic Training Centre (CFAQ) offers cutting-edge training and programs to support the development of aquatic activities throughout Quebec. Promoting aquatic safety and drowning prevention among Quebec youth, this non-profit organization aims to develop a shared passion for lifesaving, swimming, and all water sports.

SwimZoo

Dive into the magical world of SwimZoo, a unique program where parents and preschool-age children share unforgettable moments that are both fun and educational. Designed to progress without pressure and with joy, SwimZoo offers a reassuring path that celebrates every small achievement. Through eight captivating thematic stories that spark imagination, children gradually discover the essential foundations of swimming: water safety, submersion, floating, movement, and jumping — all in a safe and stimulating environment. For over 25 years, this program has stood out for its recognized pedagogical approach, combining play, creativity, and structured progression. The result: a program perfectly suited to the needs of young children, fostering confidence, independence, and the joy of learning to swim.

AquaSplash

The aquatic program for youth ages 6 to 12

AquaSplash is a comprehensive program for children ages 6 to 12, offering 14 progressive levels focused on aquatic safety. Through a variety of activities including synchronized swimming, diving, water polo, freediving, and recreational and competitive swimming, young participants develop their skills while having fun. This program helps participants become familiar with the aquatic environment, appreciate its benefits, and acquire essential competencies. The progression is designed to foster success and build confidence in every swimmer. Chosen by municipalities across Quebec for over 15 years, AquaSplash adapts to local realities and needs, helping shape today's swimmers and tomorrow's lifeguards.

The aquatic program for adults

Splash Boost is the adult adaptation of the AquaSplash program, offering a structured six-level progression from beginner to expert. Designed to meet the needs of adult swimmers, this program allows participants to develop aquatic skills at their own pace — whether it's getting comfortable in the water, improving technique, or reaching an advanced level. Through varied and adapted activities, participants gain ease, confidence, and efficiency in the aquatic environment. Splash Boost provides a motivating and safe space that encourages continuous learning and personal growth, regardless of starting point.

Splash Squad

The aquatic program for teenagers

Splash Squad is the ideal option for teenagers aged 12 and up who want to start swimming in an environment tailored to their reality. Inspired by AquaSplash, this program offers groups designed specifically for young teens. By grouping participants by age, Splash Squad better targets their interests, skills, and learning pace. This approach fosters a stimulating, motivating, and empowering learning environment where teens feel comfortable progressing among peers. It also makes group management easier for instructors while offering a more engaging and age-appropriate experience. Young participants benefit from guidance that respects their development, away from younger children's groups, helping to build their confidence and motivation.

A first leap into the world of diving!

Designed for children ages 2 to 5, this playful program invites young ones to discover diving with confidence. Accompanied by mom or dad, they actively participate in activities and develop their skills — from the pool edge to the one-metre springboard — in a safe and fun environment.

Splash Dive

Take it to the next level!

For youth ages 6 and up through adults, this dynamic program provides the essential foundations of diving. Through a structured and safe progression — first in the water, then from the edge, and up to the springboard — participants develop with or without assistance toward full mastery of techniques. Splash Dive is the ideal entry point for building confidence and making the leap toward a more competitive level.

All Aboard

Available September 2026

Inspired by the AquaSplash program, All Aboard is specially designed for teachers and educators in school settings from elementary through university. This turnkey program offers structured lesson plans adapted to all levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. From first water discovery to advanced training, the pedagogical progression is complete and scalable. Each teacher has access to concrete tools, including lesson plans and a badge system, to deliver a rich, safe, and motivating swimming program. An essential resource for teachers and educators who want to pass on solid, lasting aquatic skills.

Pénurie de sauveteurs : une nouvelle formation québécoise pour élargir l'accès à la profession

À l'approche de la fin des programmes de gratuité prévue en mars 2026, les inquiétudes grandissent dans le milieu aquatique. Le programme « Récré'eau Secours », qui sera officiellement présenté le 28 avril, vise à faciliter l'accès à la profession et à augmenter le nombre de sauveteurs disponibles.

La ville de mont-joli passe de la croix-rouge à anim'eau et récré'eau

La Ville de Mont-Joli, à l'instar des autres municipalités de la région et d'autres villes du Québec, a choisi les programmes Anim'eau et Récré'eau pour reprendre le flambeau. Les deux programmes s'adressent respectivement à des groupes d'âge préscolaire (0-5 ans) et scolaire (5-13 ans). Ces deux programmes sont dès maintenant en vigueur à la Piscine Gervais-Rioux.

En juin dernier, La ministre Isabelle Charest (déléguée à l'Éducation et responsable de la Condition féminine) annonçait l'attribution d'une enveloppe de 21,5 M$ aux formations de ‘moniteur et sauveteur aquatique', les rendant gratuites.
